Flat Towing Supplemental Braking System Recommendation for 2004 Saturn Vue
Question:
I want information or a recommendation on what type of brake system to purchase for a tow car being pulled with a class A motorhome. The car is a 2004 Saturn Vue AWD V-6.

The two main types of supplemental braking systems are the permanently installed type and the portable type.
We typically recommend the permanently installed variety like the Roadmaster Invisibrake # RM-8700 for folks that are planning on keeping the vehicle for a couple of years. A # RM-88400 relay would also be needed unless you're using magnetic taillights. Roadmaster is an industry leader, and the Invisibrake is a great option for a system that you can pretty much set and forget.
If you would prefer a portable unit, you can't go wrong with the Roadmaster # RM-9400 Even Brake. A portable system allows the unit to be easily transferred from vehicle to vehicle, and only requires a few minutes to set up. If you only plan on keeping a vehicle for a year or two, a portable system would be recommended.
