Tilting 2-Bike Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2002 Honda CR-V

Question:

Will this rack clear he rear mounted spare tire? Also, does it tilt down far enough to open cargo door all the way for rear access?

The Kuat Beta, # B202-114, for 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches measures 10-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar. You would need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch out to the distance required to clear the spare tire.

On hitches we have installed on your generation CR-V, we have found that to clear the spare you would need 9 inches or more.

Another rack that should clear that distance is the Swagman Titan, # S63400, which measures 14-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole center to the upright bar of the carrier. This rack does tilt down but you will not want to tilt it with the bikes loaded. When tilted it is likely that you will be able to open the rear hatch.
