If the Center Section of the Hub is Larger than a Wheel Pilot Hole Will they Work Together

Question:

I have 5.70-8 tires on my trailer with 4 lug nuts. Does it matter if the new hub pilot hole on a new rim is larger than the stock standard original wheels that came with the trailer?

If the outer diameter of the hub center section that fits through the wheel is larger than the wheel pilot hole then the parts are not going to fit together.

If the center hole on the wheel is larger, it will not matter unless the wheel is centered on the hub using wheel bolts and not lug nuts. A wheel bolt is basically a bolt and the head is like a lug nut. It gets tightened into the wheel and this is what centers the wheel on the hub.

If your wheels attach with lug nuts then as long as the wheel pilot hole is larger than the hub they will work together.
