Recommended Adapter for 2020 Chevy 3500 Factory Pucks for Standard Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

Good afternoon I have a 2020 3500 HD with the new system in the bed, I had a slider hitch previous for a fifth wheel, Im not sure if I need a slider anymore, it is not 8 foot box though, anyway the question is I know you can get a plate for the puck system I think its called and then you put your hitch on it? I believe so also can you buy a whole new system with that in place the hitch in the park system together I guess it would be? Thank you for your time greatly appreciated

Absolutely! You have under a 8 foot bed, so you will still want to use your sliding hitch. The adapter plate you want for your hitch and the factory pucks is the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Chevy/GMC OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 21K # DM6333. It will fit your pucks and give you the compatible rails for your hitch.

If your trailer has a rotating pin box, then you can use a standard non-sliding hitch on this adapter but if it doesn't you will still want the sliding base for those tight turns like around gas pumps.

If you don't want the adapter, you can use a hitch designed for the puck fit like the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3775 which would be directly compatible.
