I have a 2013 GMC terrain when hook up a brake controller all the wires are hook up except the red wire and there are five wires connect to the brake witch wire do we use

You need the wire that's only hot when you press the brake pedal. The only way to find it for sure is to test each wire individually. If it shows power when you don't press on the pedal, then it's not it.
You can use a standard light tester like part # PTW2993 to test each wire.
