5th Wheel Base Rail Locations for Reese Setup on 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty with 8' Bed
Question:
Installing a fifth wheel hitch, Reese 16K, in a 2016 Ford F-350 platinum 8 ft. Bed crew cab diesel. What is a good measurement to use from back edge of bed to back rail and then to front rail? I’ve gotten mixed remarks from different owners.

The spacing for the base rail kit can slightly vary based on the manufacturer but if you are installing the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # RP50026-58 on your 2016 Ford F-350 long bed then you want to place the back of the rearmost rail 32-1/4" from the tailgate opening. Then from the center of that rail to the center of the front rail will measure 22".
I have attached a dimensional photo of the rails from the installation instructions, as well as a photo showing the measurements for industry standard base rails.
If you have a different base rail system let me know and I can help you make sure that these measurements are correct.
