How to Change Grease Setup to Oil Setup for LoadRite Axle 6009.106
Question:
The Tie-Down axle LoadRite part# LR#6009.106 has geese fitting on end of axle. Should the grease fittings be simply removed and use Prolube seals and caps to convert or other steps required? Thank you

To convert your grease setup on your Tie-Down axle to an oil setup you will essentially just replace the grease seals and caps with the oil seals and caps that come with the kit # XLPROLUBE2440KIT you referenced. Aside from that the only other thing you need to do is completely clean out all of the grease where these will be installed. The bearings, spindle, and inside of the hub need to be grease free because sometimes the grease will react with the oil and actually damage your setup.
Please note that when I looked up that axle it looks like it is rated for 3,700 lbs so you'll likely need the Kodiak XL ProLube Kit for 3500-lb Axles # XLPROLUBE1980KIT instead. This comes with oil seals that have an ID of 1.72" and the caps fit a hub bore of 1.98" so you'll want to verify what you have prior to getting the oil kit.
