Troubleshooting Curt Echo Brake Controller that Doesn't Apply Trailer Brakes Although it Says it is

Hello I just redid my boat trailer and i upgraded my brakes from hydraulic to electric break i have the curt echo wireless brake controller every thing works fine like when i press the break button on the app the brakes apply when i pull the brakes away switch the brakes apply but when i press the peddle on my car it shows the brakes been applied on the app but the brakes wont apply on the trailer i have a 2003 gmc envoy xl Another question i have self adjustable brakes do i need to adjust them from the first time Thank you

When activating the brakes of your vehicle with the Curt Echo part # C51180 the vehicle and trailer will need to be in motion for the sensor of the controller to feel the deceleration and apply the brakes proportionately. If you are applying them at a stop they controller won't do much. Also if the brakes are brand new they do need to be adjusted initially so that there's the proper tightness to activate them.
