Parts Needed to Install 7-way and Brake Controller in Chevy Express without any Factory Wiring
Question:
Hi guys, just read your Q/A on this, my express has the towing package without a hitch installed by GM. Hitch now installed and I need a 7 prong. Manual says seven wire is taped inside pocket drivers rear but nothing found. Manual also says four wire is under instrument cluster, but cant seem to find it either. Is the 7 prong wiring automatically included if tow included from factory w/o hitch?? Any idea where I might find it? If its not, then need to use four wire with the two links you provided in the article I just read. But what does it look like under the dash???

Not every vehicle will have the factory 7-way and brake controller wiring. The fact you can't find the 7-way harness at the rear or the brake controller wiring under the dash would imply yours does not have the factory wiring but we can still help. You'll need to first install a 4-way if you do not have one like with the part # 119250KIT and then convert to a 7-way with the # ETBC7 you referenced which also comes with the wiring needed for the brake controller.
For a brake controller we have the Brake EVN # TK63VR which performs really well and is also priced great.
