Needing 6 Inch Drop Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Hitch Receiver

Question:

I have a RP65509 hitch. This was on my 1500 Ram. I purchased a 2500 Ram. The truck is 5 inches taller and has a 2.5 receiver instead of 2 inch. Can i just purchase a shank with 5 inches more . THANKS!

What you're needing is a weight distribution shank with a 6-1/4 inch drop (shank included with your # RP65509 has a 1-1/4 inch drop) so the # EQ90-02-4900 would work well for you. With a 6 inch drop, it'll come up a 1/4 inch short, but that's certainly close enough to work perfectly. This shank fits 2-1/2 inch receivers, and even though it's from Equal-i-zer and not Reese, the hole spacing is identical so it'll work perfectly for you.
