Can 12" HWT Aluminum Wheels 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern Be Used With Wheel Bolts

Question:

I’m looking at 4 on 4 trailer wheel setups as that’s what my trailer has. With the one set of 12” aluminum trailer wheels being 4 lug they are the proper bolt pattern for my trailer. Question is can those aluminum wheels be used with wheels bolts that act as the stud as well? Or can they only be used with hubs that have studs coming out that you then use a lug nut on. Thank you!

The only 4 on 4 bolt pattern aluminum 12" wheel available is the Aluminum Split Spoke Trailer Wheel part # AM22318HWT can be used on trailer hubs that use wheel bolts (hub-centric) or with lug nuts (lug-centric).

It sounds like your existing wheels may be hub-centric which means your wheels center on the hub using the hub bore rather than centering with lug nuts. That means the pilot hole diameter of the existing wheel needs to match the new wheel pilot hole diameter exactly. As long as the pilot hole diameter of your existing wheels is exactly 2.80" then you can use the # AM22318HWT. I recommend to measure the existing wheels pilot hole diameter with a digital caliper to get an exact measurement.
