Troubleshooting Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Not Providing Power to Brakes
Question:
I have a prodigy P2 break controller in my Freightliner Columbia truck everything is wired and hooked up and working when I step on the break I get 4.0 on the brake controller for breaking pressure and I show power all the way at the brakes drum But it’s not applying the brakes and I cannot figure out why

The 4.0 you're seeing on your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 is the amount of power being sent back to the brakes, so it's likely that you just need to adjust the power output to supply more power to the brakes; when setting up your unit you should start by testing it at 6.0. You'll want to turn the knob on the left side of the unit to bring the power up before setting the boost up, so it might have just been an error during the setup of the unit.
When testing, you should take your trailer to a flat, open surface with your trailer and going about 25 MPH and with the power set to 6.0, see if the brakes engage. If they still don't engage, you'll want to turn it up until you get the brakes to lock up in the process and then back them off to where you're getting sufficient braking power on the trailer.
If you go through the setup process and your trailer brakes aren't engaging when the power is turned all the way up, please let me know and I can let you know a few other steps to take to get your Prodigy P2 up and running.
