Installing 5th Wheel Base Rails to a 2014 Silverado Short Bed
Question:
Hi Can U bolts be used around the frame to hold the 5th wheel Rails in place, on a 2014 Silverado short bed Chevy??? Also is it neccessary to take the Gas tank off before drilling the Drivers side??

U-bolts cannot be used for the RP30035 rails. If you are installing on a 1500 short bed or a 2500/3500 model you will not need to move the gas tank for drilling. You will want to take safety precautions, but you won't be interfering with or throwing heat or sparks that would warrant that removal.
For an easier installation you may want to consider a kit with custom brackets. For 1500 you would use # RP56007-53. For 2500 or 3500 use # RP50066-58 or # RP56001-53. I've attached videos of these installations to assist.
