How thick of metal can these lights be mounted in?

The grommet of the part # MCL111AKPG is 5/16 of an inch so it will fit a metal thickness just under 5/16 of an inch. The installation requires an 3/4 of an inch hole at desired location. I recommend to use the Mounting Adapter for Optronics 3/4" Diameter Trailer Side Marker and Clearance Lights part # A11DB for a cleaner install if you have existing mounting holes.
