Is There A Fifth Wheel Option For 1998 Ford F-150 Flare Side?

i have a 98 ford f150 lariat 4x4 with the 6 !/2 ft bed. every hitch ive looked at on your site for my truck says it wont work with a flare side. which is what i have..i need a fifth wheel hitch can you point me in the right direction please

The stepside or Flareside trucks, like your 1998 Ford F-150, cause issues with fifth wheel trailers because the bed narrower than standard beds which causes clearance issues with the fifth wheel trailers. Most hitch manufacturers do not recommend using their hitches with a flare side truck for this reason.

The only option is to use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider part # BWRVK3400-5W and installation kit part # BWGNRK1197-5W. B&W is the only manufacturer that has their hitches as a confirmed fit for the Flare Side models. The B&W Companion has a 20,000 lb towing capacity and doubles as a goose neck hitch. I have attached a video for your reference.

I recommend to use fifth wheel wiring part # C56070 which plugs in line with the factory 7-Way on your truck and extends to the bed rail for an additional conveniently placed 7-way plug for easy hookup. If your truck has a factory 4-pole flat you need part # 20030.
