Does 2015 GMC Sierra Diesel Have Towing Capacity for Grand Design Solitude 373FB

Question:

Hi, Would appreciate any advise. Heres my quesiton. We own a 2015 GMC Denali with the 6.6L Turbo Diesel, SRW with an 8 ft. bed. The tow ratings are as follows: In the 5th wheel towing configuration, I can tow 16,900 lbs. Payload on my truck is 3572lbs. The 5th wheel we want to buy is the Grand Design Solitude 373FB. The weights are as follows UVW 13,900 lbs GVWR 16,800 lbs Hitch Weight 2800 lbs. Our camping habits: We typically dont carry water with us as we are not likely to camp anywhere that doesnt have water available. Would likely dump our grey and black tanks before heading home. Not going to have things like a washer and dryer or other heavy items. Most cargo is clothing and food for a week. Just me, the wife and our two beagles. I cant imagine that we would put 1k lbs of cargo in the camper and/or truck. Thoughts? My major concern is the safety for me and my family. Will I be over my payload? Anything I can do to my truck or should I just move up to a dually? Thanks in advance,

You'd be fine. The max your trailer can weigh is 16,800 lbs and the max your truck can tow is 16,900 lbs so as long as you stay under the capacity of your trailer your truck will be totally fine.

The Companion fifth wheel hitch part # BWRVK3500 is the way to go for a hitch as well as it's widely considered to be the best option around based on how well it's made and how easy it is to use. To install this in your 2015 GMC Sierra all you need is the part # BWGNRK1012 and you'd be set.
