I checked the owner's manual for a 2018 Honda Ridgeline and can confirm the use of a weight distribution system is permitted. It's usually only not on unibody applications. I recommend the Husky Center Line Weight Distribution part # HT32217 which is an excellent option that has built-in sway control. It's rated for trailers up to 8,000 lbs. This system will be much easier to use when compared to ones which use chains and you also get the sway control integration.
