Does Speed Affect Tire Wear on a Trailer Tire

will the speed of a 4.80 x 12 effect the wear of the tire?

Expert Reply:
The speed will not have much if any effect on tire wear provided that you stay within the 65 mph the tire is rated for. The big things that effect tire wear are going to be load, alignment, and air pressure. Always make sure that trailer tires are inflated to the max psi rating as indicated on the tire for longest life and best performance. I have included a link to our tire FAQ article for you.
