WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SHACKLE LENGHT ON A TANDEM AXLE TRAILER FROM HAVING A 2 5/8 VERES 2 1/4 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN USING THE SMALLER ONE

In order to retain the same suspension geometry, when you replace shackles you should use the same length replacements. Going with a shackle that is too short will not allow enough articulation in the suspension, and cause a very rough ride. Using a shackle that is too long will allow too much articulation and can cause the suspension to bottom out.
