What is the Difference Between Swagman Bike Rack Locking Knob # P1040 and Knob # P1009
Question:
We picked up a used Swagman tilting hitch bike rack holds three bikes. Not sure how old it is but we need replacement knobs. How can we determine if it is the pre-2009 or after 2009 model?

The difference between the locking knobs for Swagman bike racks, # P1040 and P1009, is the type of bolt that they accept. Knob # P1040 and # P1041 for 2009 and newer racks accepts a 6mm threaded bolt. Knob P1009 (and # P1004 with the bolt attached) for 1999 to 2008 racks accepts a 3/8 inch diameter threaded bolt.
