Does the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller Have to be Paired Again when Switching Vehicles
Question:
I already have a Tekonsa RF I was using in a 2008 Porsche Cayenne and now want to use it in the new Silverado I just got. It has the trailer package and the 7 way connector can it just be pluged in and used because the unit has already been paired. Are there any surprises I might find, because it did not work well with the Cayenne and I really hope it works great in the Silverado.

When you move the Tekonsha RF brake controller, # TK94FR, to a different vehicle you should follow the installation instructions and repair the unit according to the instructions which I have linked for reference. This will ensure that it works properly. The issue is the slight differences in ball height and the angle the trailer is at when changing vehicles. Re-pairing the units allows it to calibrate itself for the change. The controller should work well in your Chevy truck.
