Could Just Outer Two Bike Positions of Hollywood Racks Sport Rider part # HR1400Z be Used

Question:

Hollywood HR1400Z In the 4 bike set-up, is it possible to utilize the outer two bike mounts with bikes and have no bikes on the two inner mounts? Is that safe for travel? The reason Im asking is I have Ford F-150 and would need the tailgate down all the way most of the time. Im wondering if the tailgate would clear everything in the down position with 2 bikes mounted on the extension part. My vehicle is 2016 F-150 Crew Cab. Thanks!

Yes, you could load two bikes just on the outer two bike mounts of the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider part # HR1400Z. This is actually a really clever way to carry bikes on a truck with the tailgate down.
