J-Style Kayak Carrier Compatible w/ Yakima HD Roof Rack Crossbars

Question:

Looking for some product information I saw in a video some time back about installing a kayak folding J rack on the Yakima HD Bar system over the truck bed.

Because the Yakima HD have the accessory slot in the top of the rail, and the crossbar is 3 x 1 inches, it'll be compatible with J-Style kayak carriers that either mount using the slot or clamp around the crossbar.

The Yakima JayLow kayak carrier you've looked at, part # Y04073 will work with crossbars up to 3-1/2 x 1-11/16 inches, so it'll work perfectly with the Yakima HD crossbars. This rack will allow you to carry up to 2 kayaks, but for 2 kayaks, you'll need an extra # Y04031 strap kit.
