Can a Remote Engine Oil Cooler be Installed on a 2005 Ford F-150
Question:
Will this cooler fit a 2005 ford f150
asked by: Kyle C
Expert Reply:
Engine oil coolers are not vehicle specific so you can install one provided you have enough space under the hood to mount it in your 2005 Ford F-150 AND the kit comes with the correct fittings. A remote cooler like # D15660 that you referenced has an advantage because it contains its own fan so it can be mounted it alternative locations that other coolers cannot go.
This kit comes with a universal thermostatic sandwich adapter and multiple sleeve nuts to ensure the proper thread size. Make sure there is space for the 2 extra inches of length that the sandwich adapter will add in the oil filter area of the engine.
