Troubleshooting Right Turn Signal Not Getting 12v
Question:
I have a curt 7 pin trailer assembly plug and everything works fine but the right turn light. When I put in the test plug I have the LED indicator lights up a bit but very dim and when I hit the brakes it gets a full 12 volts. I’m lost and was wondering if it could be in the module itself? Thanks for the help

Since you are getting power when you put on the right turn and it is just dim, it sounds like the module is probably okay. I recommend cleaning the trailer connections with some sandpaper and then checking the turn signal again. It is possible that the ground connection on your module needs to be cleaned up for a better ground. Corrosion, rust, and debris can keep things from functioning. If you use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 and don't get all the functions, then the module needs replaced. The LED testers sometimes don't show enough power draw on the circuit for a correct test.
