Which Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger Is Needed For 250 ah Battery

Question:

I have a 2008 Dodge 2500. Is the 331-BCDC1225D 25 amp compatible with 250 ah battery or should I get the larger size to charge faster? Will this hurt my vehicle battery or alternator?

Expert Reply:

I recommend to use the 40 amp Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger part # 331-BCDC1240D which is designed for battery banks 200 ah and higher and has a 600 watt power output. The 25 amp Redarc charger option # 331-BCDC1225D is designed to charge a 75 ah to 200 ah battery bank so it is not compatible with your battery.

The Redarc chargers are designed with a battery isolation system to protect your starter battery and alternator from feedback. The 60-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 40-Amp BCDC Battery Charger part # 331-FK60 are needed too protect the starter and auxiliary battery.
