Can the Performance Tools Solar Charger be Used While the Vehicle is Connected to the Trailer.
Question:
I want to use a solar trickle charger to maintain my trailer emergency brake batteries. Some solar trickle chargers cant handle the alternator, and have to be disconnected before you connect the trailer to the tow vehicle to avoid frying the circuitry. Can this be left permanently connected?

Yes the Performance Tools 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger part # PTW2997 can be installed while the trailer is connected to your tow vehicle. We have had zero issues with this causing any kind of issues on the trailers we have it installed on for the same application.
