Parts Needed to Convert 4-Way of 1985 Chevy Suburban to 7-Way for Brake Controller

Question:

I have an 85 Chevy suburban that I want to install a trailer brake controller on but am not sure what the best option is. Right now all I have is a 4-pin set up at the standard 2” receiver. I will be towing lighter trailer with a GTW of about 5000. But I do want the 7 pin cause one of my trailers does have electric brakes. What are my options? Thanks.

You would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Brake EVN # TK63VR. This is one of our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. It also is priced really well too. This setup is by far you best and easiest option.
