Brake Assembly Adjustment Won't Lock Wheels
Question:
I have a 6 lug on a 5 1/2. 4400lb brake assembly. I have adjusted them to what I believe is a proper amount of drag. Does it take awhile before the brakes will brake in. These are brand new assemblies and drums. I have set my out put to the max setting with the max boost and cannot get them to lock up.

Your brakes shouldn't necessarily lock up at max boost output. The goal is not to lock the tires and cause the trailer tires to skid but rather to give strong breaking pressure to bring to a safe stop. It sounds like you have your brake assemblies # AKEBRK-35R-SA adjusted properly.
You should just have a slight drag on your hub when you rotate your trailer wheel when it is off the ground. You shouldn't have too much drag or you will simply wear down your brake shoes prematurely.
