Our installers will score the area that needs to be cut with a utility knife and either use the same knife to make the cut or tin snips/aviator shears depending on the thickness of the material. They then clean the cuts by removing any burrs that may be present with the knife or by sanding.

You could also use a rotary tool if you have one. It may also help to make a template the size of the area that needs to be trimmed, see instructions, to make the cut easier.
