Recommended Fairing for Thule Wingbar Evo Roof Rack on 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan
Question:
Hi there. I have a 2015 VW Tiguan, along with a Thule 450R Rapid Crossroad, Thule Wingbar Evo 118 47in., and have a Thule Motion XT XL cargo box. When driving on the highway I hear a loud whistling noise, along with general noise which I would like to reduce. I would like to buy a roof rack fairing but do not know which size or type to buy. Thule brand would be preferable. Please advise, thank you.

For your Thule roof rack setup on your 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan, Thule recommends a 44 inch long fairing, part # TH82WV. The fairing (or AirScreen, as Thule refers to it) will redirect the air stream and quiet things to a degree.
To further reduce noise, make sure the rubber strips are in place along the underside of the crossbars. If they're missing, the wind will catch them and make a heckuva racket.
