How to Connect the Red Wire to the Brake Pedal Switch on a 2009 Saturn Vue
Question:
I purchased a Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Time Delayed for my 2009 Saturn Vue. The problem Im running into is that the 2009 Saturn seems to have power going through the brake switch until you press the brakes. So what I need is information on would be where to make the connections for the red wire that would normally go to the brake pedal switch.

To make the connection to the brake light switch on your 2009 Saturn Vue with the red wire from the brake controller, you will have to make the connection at the brake light fuse in the under-hood fuse box. I would recommend using a fuse tap that is available at most hardware stores. This connection cannot be made at the switch above the brake pedal.
To determine which fuse is the brake light fuse, there should be a diagram of the fuses on the lid of the fuse box, or you could use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and test for the fuse that has power when someone else presses the brake pedal.
You will need to run another length of wire to the fuse box through the firewall just like you would do for the power wire (black) and brake output wire (blue) from the brake controller.
