Do you sugest puting a sealant on the vent before installing to the side of an enclose cargo trailer?

When installing a vent like the Alliance 2-Piece Enclosed Trailer Vent, part # HMAV2-AVT2, to a trailer we do recommend to use a sealant like # 0160297 to help seal the trailer from the elements.

The Loctite urethane sealant is applied as a thick liquid to parts before assembly or in seams after assembly to create a waterproof bond in a variety of applications. It can seal doors, windows, vents and other areas in enclosed trailers where water could enter.

The trailer vent does not include the mounting screws. We sell the Wood Screws, part # 30587, if you are installing to wood or a similar material, and the Metal Screws, part # 31071, if you are installing to metal material.
