Will the Curt Echo Brake Controller Work if the Vehicle has a Factory Brake Controller?

I am interested in this but I have a Ford F250 with an integrated brake controller that I am not too happy with. Is there a way to bypass the integrated controller and just use the Echo? Is there an issue using this with the integrated brake controller?

The Curt Echo part # C51180 overrides a factory controller. There is nothing you need to do other than plug in the Echo and run the app on your phone because the Echo essentially breaks the signal from the factory controller to the trailer brakes. All the Echo needs to function is the 12 volt power source on a 7-way plug.
