Will 145/80-12 Radial Tires Replace 5.30-12 Bias Tires

Question:

Hi, Im getting a boat with a trailer that has 5.30 X 12 C bias ply tires. Im wondering if a ST145/R12 LRD radial tire would work in place of these? Will the rims that the current bias ply tires are on work with that size radial also? What size rim would it be for the ST145/R12 LRD and do you have a relatively cheap recommendation for this rim for a spare? Thanks

Your current 5.30-12 tires fit the same size wheel as a 125/80-12 tire so this is a fine replacement. They both fit a 4 inch wide wheel and you're actually going down in diameter by about a 1/2 inch and the width is basically the same so there won't be any issues with clearance.

A good tire to use as a replaecment is part # AM10130 which is a load range D with a max capacity of 1,220 pounds at 65 psi.

I don't know what bolt pattern your wheels are or what they look like but optoins for your spare could be part # AM35351DX that has a 4 on 4 pattern or part # AM31199DX which is a 5 on 4-1/2.
