Troubleshooting Brake Lights and Turn Signals Not Functioning on Trailer

Question:

i have everything hooked up and wired in the same way as on the video and relay and fuse in the right spot. all the lights come on on the trailer but the brake and turn signals dont work when using them. what could the problem be

It sounds like this could just be a simple ground issue that is often encountered when installing something like the Adapter 4 pole to 7 Pole # 37185. I recommend that you make sure that the ground connection on your vehicle is firmly secured to a paint and rust free surface so that you're getting the best possible connection.

This would also be a good time to make sure that your existing trailer plug is free from dirt, debris and corrosion, as well. In most cases that will remedy your issue, but if it doesn't please let me know and I'm happy to give you a few other things that you can look at to get this up and running.
