Question:

Does this utilize friction sway control at the bracket location? What are the differences between this product and the Fastway e2... they look very similar?

The Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Round Bar part # RE34FR does not utilize friction sway control. It is simply a weight distribution system that will redistribute the weight of your setup with the spring bars which will help to reduce sway but does not have active sway control at the bracket locations. A system like the Reese WDS RE34FR will help to eliminate rear sag of the tow vehicle and distribute the weight but it will not do much for sway. If you are experiencing sway when a big truck passes you on the highway or there is a gush of wind then you want built in sway control with your system.

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution systems like part # FA94-00-0800 uses 2 points of steel on steel friction to help keep the trailer in a straight line when going down the road. Once the trailer begins to sway the direct steel to steel friction of the spring bars in the brackets creates resistance to eliminate the side to side movement.

If you are experiencing sway, the Fastway e2 FA94-00-0800 is a great option if the loaded tongue weight of your trailer falls between 400 lbs - 800 lbs. You wan't the loaded tongue weight of your trailer to fall in the middle of the tongue weight range rating of the spring bars to have a properly rated system for your trailer. You will also need a hitch ball with 1-1/4" shank for that you can use part # EQ91-00-6080 for a 2" ball or part # 63840 for a 2-5/16" ball.
