Yes, the Thule Passage 2 Bike Rack, # TH910XT, will fit on your 1998 Volvo V70. This bike rack has 6 straps that will attach to the top, side and bottom edges of the rear hatch. Please note that the rear wiper cannot be used when this carrier is mounted.
I have attached the installation instructions and a video for you to check out. The vehicle in the video is different, but the installation process will be the same.
If you plan on carrying any womens, childrens or alternative bike frames, then I would recommend picking up the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT. Some small or angled bike frames can be difficult to load on a bike rack and this adapter will allow you to load the bikes easily and safely.
