Can I use the connection to keep a 12 volt battery charged that I use for running 12 volt pumps?

Yes, you can absolutely use the Buyers Products 2-Way Die-Cast Zinc Trailer Connector - Trailer Side # 337TC2012 to keep a charge on your 12 volt battery. Just keep in mind that the maximum wire gauge you can use on this is 6 gauge and it can handle a max of 40 amps, neither of which should be a problem for your 12 volt battery.
