Recommended Tire and Wheel Size
Question:
On the timbren 3500 straight axles with trailer brakes what is the recommended max wheel and tire size? I also would like to know the correct back spacing for the wheels
asked by: Jason B
Expert Reply:
The back spacing or offset for the wheels should be zero or maybe -.50. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System part # A35RS545E is designed to be used with trailer tires which are most common in the zero or little offset to keep the weight pushing firmly down on the center of the tire. Similar to the Kenda Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Black Mod Wheel part # AM32424
As far as sizing goes you can use any 15" or larger part # AM32424 is an extremely common tire and wheel size and would work out great in most any situation. There are always exceptions so to be sure measure from the center of the spindle to the bottom of the fender subtract 4" and this will give you the maximum radius you can use with any tire you pick.
