Troubleshooting B and W Companion Hitch Not Fitting into Turnoverball Gooseneck

Question:

I recently purchased a bandw gooseneck hitch through etrailer part #BWGNRK1116. I already own a bandw companion fifth wheel hitch part #BWRVK3500. I’m currently having issues with the pin sliding through the socket post. I have tried to adjust the internal slide but the pin is hitting the outer socket post. I have adjusted the rubber pads underneath but I cannot get anymore adjustments.

I sent this to B and W and they were able to give some perspective. Here is what they sent:

It sounds as if the customer may have one of the original RVK3500 hitches. Over time we have made a slight alteration to the draw down post. The change is an elongated hole where the pin goes through. I would recommend they elongate their hole on the draw down post if they the pin isn’t wanting to go through and is off by a little bit. If this doesn’t work please feel free to let me know.
