Can AAMP Universal Seat Heater Pads Be Trimmed and How to Install
Question:
I ordered these AAMP seat heaters, and I did not receive and can not find the installation instructions for these. I would like to cut them but I am worried that I cant, and I am trying to figure out what the reflective tape is used for. Could you please offer assistance? I am installing in a 2013 Nissan Xterra S

Cutting or trimming the heating surfaces will cause irreversible damage, so I definitely do not recommend doing it. The purpose of the metallic adhesive strips that are included is to help to ensure the heat transfer happens more uniformly. They are placed under the pads so that the heat go outward rather than back into the seat. Because this is considered to be a more permanent solution, ideally, you'll want to install the heating pads under the seat cover, and place the adhesive strips between your seat and the heating pads.
The two heating surfaces on the # 292-101823 each measure 19" long x 10-3/4" wide.
