We cannot recommend towing a gooseneck trailer with a Class IV trailer hitch and an adjustable ball mount because rear mounted trailer hitches are not designed to work with gooseneck trailers. Instead, you will have to install a gooseneck trailer hitch in the bed of your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 and use a gooseneck hitch ball.

For your truck, as long as it is not a Mega Cab, I recommend the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1313 because it is a quality hitch and it is made here in the USA. This hitch offers towing capacities up to 30,000 pounds gross towing weight and 7,500 pounds vertical load limit. This hitch includes a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball which can store upside down to give you full use of your truck bed.

I have attached the installation instructions and an installation video of this hitch for you to check out.

If you happen to have a Mega Cab, the gooseneck hitch you would want instead is the B&W # BWGNRK1308.
