Can Front Mounted Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2011 Ford F-150 be Used for Moving Trailers

Question:

I own a 2011 ford f-150 4wd crew cab. I want to purchase a front hitch. I was thinking either the draw tite 65061 or curt c31057. I am thinking of buying a newer f-150 2018-2020 in about one year. Will these hitches work on the newer models? If so which would you recommend? I am planning on using this hitch for moving trailers around to get into tight spots without having to back up. My biggest trailer weighs about 4500 lbs. Is that ok? Thx

Expert Reply:

You can definitely use a front-mounted trailer hitch receiver to move trailers into tight spots so you don't have to back up. In fact, this is a very common practice because let's be honest, even with the greatest back-up cameras in the world, parking a trailer while backing up isn't so easy.

As for fit on your 2011 Ford F-150, I recommend the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31068.
