Hitch Lock Solution for Reese Explore 3 Bike Rack part # 63123

Question:

Which anti rattle hitch lock will work best for this bike rack

There isn't a traditional type of hitch pin lock available for the Reese bike rack part # 632123 which does have an anti-rattle hitch bolt so you'd want to use a cable lock like part # MPG357 to lock it to the safety chain loops of the hitch it's installed in.

Hi Jameson, as to my question about the bike rack lock I was referring to a anti rattle lock that would go through the hitch on my vehicle and into the threaded bolt hole on the bicycle rack it is part G in the manual that I want to replace with a lock.

There isn't a locking anti-rattle pin available that's compatible with the threads on the Explorer's shank. I think what Jameson was saying is that your only real option is to simply use a cable lock, not to secure the bikes to the rack, but to actually secure the rack to your vehicle. This will help deter theft while also maintaining benefit from the existing anti-rattle pin.
