Can a Backup Camera Audio Be Hooked Up To the Jensen RV Stereo JDVD1500

Question:

Looking for a single din car stereo like this one. I dont want a flashy unit with a lot of bells and whistles. I want something that looks stock, but with more features like BT and aux. I notice that it has AV input. Would I be able to connect a back up camera to it? I would be installing it into a 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ which is used for off-road, so it must be able to take a beating bumps, dust etc.. Thanks

The Jensen RV Stereo # JDVD1500 is one of the more basic stereo units we have to offer and I believe you will be happy with it. You already noted that it is a single DIN and has the AUX and Bluetooth capabilities like what you're wanting.

If your backup camera uses AV connections for the audio then yes, you could play the audio from your camera through your sound system, however the screen is a simple LCD display and wouldn't take on the functions of a monitor for your camera.

This unit (and all of the other ones we sell) are designed around RVing and while they haven't really been put through the ringer in regards to off-roading, RVs do have more jostling around than typical passenger vehicles so this has an Electronic Skip Protection that keeps the CD/DVD player from skipping when jostled if that's any consolation.

Attached is a review video and the installation instructions for you to reference.
