How To Fix Ground Clearance Issues with Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier

Question:

Hi there Im going to raise my carrier because it its hitting bumps. I was looking at this product, Blue Ox High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2inch Hitches - 10inch Rise/ - 11-1/2inch Long Item # BX88132 but this particular item and all of your products seem to be for towing and not for carrier purposes. I have a Class III Hitch and I have a Versa Haul VH-MS Mobility with maximum hauling capacity of 500 lbs. that I would like to raise to an 8inch or !10inch rise without extending the length anymore, so please advise. Thank you! Best regards,

I have a solution for you, but you're correct that the Blue Ox # BX88132 is not designed for hitch mounted accessories like your cargo carrier. The only available solution that will allow you to carry up to 500-lbs is the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers # D210, which will add 7-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole on your vehicle's receiver to the center of the hitch pin hole on the accessory receiver on the Curt D210.

Unlike most other hitch adapters, the D210 does not experience a reduction in tongue weight by 50% when using the accessory receiver, so it is the perfect solution for to allow you to carry your cargo carrier.
