Hitch Extension Solution for Ford F-250 with Weight Distribution To Add Length to Setup
Question:
I have a travel trailer weighing around 9000 lbs, towing with a f250. Looking for a hitch extension so I can haul with the tailgate down. I use a reese weight distribution and sway hitch. What would be the best extension to buy.

The best solution we have would be a longer weight distribution shank like the Equal-i-zer part # EQ90-02-4600 that you referenced which is 18 inches overall. This shank is perfectly compatible with your Reese system and is best option for adding length. The hitch extenders wouldn't have the capacity you'd need.
