Which Hitch Head Setting to Use with Companion Hitch in Long Bed Truck  

Question:

i purchased the model 1313 underbed bandw gooseneck hitch for my 2004 dodge ram with the 8 foot bed. when assembling the hitch you have 3 choices for locating the upright 3 inches 5 inches or 7 inches behind the in shank that tightens down the companion hitch model 3500 to the bed of my truck. not sure where to locate the uprights onto base. my 5th wheel is only slightly rounded in the front

For a long bed truck like yours I'd just go with the middle head setting of the Companion part # BWRVK3500 since that is a neutral setting and you don't really need additional turning clearance.
