Is the Roadmaster Invisibrake a Proportional Braking System
Question:
Toad=2009-2011 Ford Ranger 4x4 5 spd manual being towed by motorhome. Would like proportional braking for mountain roads, I think I read the Invisibrake fails this requirement, but has been my #1 choice unless true. If true, I want a proportional braking system that also includes toad brake, turn and tail light functionality. Recommendations?

You're correct that the Roadmaster Invisibrake # RM-8700 is not a true proportional supplemental braking system; it's considered a "progressive" system, meaning that when braking is called for, InvisiBrake immediately engages the brake pedal and rapidly ramps up the braking the setting you have selected. I have a solution for what you're looking for in a supplemental braking system, but all supplemental braking systems will require additional tow bar wiring to control the turn, brake and tail lights from your RV.
Considering that, a much better solution that offers proportional braking and doesn't require setup each time is the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. The Stay-IN-Play DUO system is compatible with power-assist brakes and RVs with hydraulic brakes, and will provide proportional braking in your 2010 Ford Ranger when flat towing it behind your RV.
For wiring your lights, the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 is one of our most popular solutions that will allow your vehicle lights to work in conjunction with your RV's lights and prevent feedback that might otherwise damage your RV's electrical system.
I've linked a few informational videos on these items to this answer that you might want to have a look at, as well.
